Sylvia Holden

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Sylvia who loved, loved, loved making things pretty…

She painted part of her neighbor’s porch with leftover paint she found in her parents basement. She brought old paintings and dishes and abandoned telephones to redecorate old man Hadleys shed. During the winter she broke into the Jacobsons summer house to paint and redecorate. Because she was only eight the community decided to give her a sewing machine instead of Juvenile detention.

Sylvia Holden has a background in fine art, design and the collection of stuff, which she studied at RISD and FIT, and practiced at the world renowned auction house Butterfield and Butterfield in San Francisco. Around that time Sylvia began designing handbags using antique fabric remnants and old handbag handles. Now Sylvia has come full circle - she designs her own collection, mixing it with beautiful vintage pieces she has hand selected and putting it all together in this boutique. Sylvia is also a fashion stylist
