I was walking down Greene st in Soho last night and became enchanted by this window. The boutique is KIKI DE MONTPARNASSE a sexy little lingerie and adult toy salon. Oooh la la! This is their holiday window and I love it!

What you are seeing here is a Victorian hoop skirt over lingerie. The hoop skirt is wrapped in small blue christmas lights – So clever. Here is a nod to whoever did this window.

Sylvie was spotted looking very stylish on Clinton St in Cobble Hill Brooklyn. Mixing new designer pieces with vintage designer pieces like a star. She is wearing a beautiful new dress by Vena Cava together with Vintage Fryes and a very cute vintage Gloria Vanderbilt jacket. The look works!
Sylvies fashion icon is Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Sylvie describes her style as eclectic with a hippy vibe.
Sylvie finds that the people she thinks have great style do there own thing and dont take themselves too seriously.
I think Charlotte Gainsbourg should be flattered to have this lady as a fan.

I want you to send me images of you in your mixed vintage and new designer outfits (sholden@sylviaholden.com). I will post select ones here on my blog.

This shoot was done for my homepage with a holiday feel in mind. We e-mailed back and forth for days looking at models coming up with makeup ideas, wardrobe ideas and to discuss set. Below is the wardrobe I chose for this shoot. With the holiday parties in mind I chose shimmery things with a feeling of romance. This wardrobe is very romantic to me but of course I had to add a boyfriend jacket and a vintage black leather jacket to toughen it up a bit. I am very happy with these images. Take a look let me know what you think.

The makeup artist Irene Delgado begins her magic on I do have to say a very beautiful model. The model is Saglara Ladzheeva. Irene did a really amazing job on the eyes. I dont even know how to explain the eye shadow. She did a cat eye but the eyeshadow is a little something else. If you go to the homepage and scroll through the images of the shoot you will see a close up of this eye. She gave the model a very fresh rosy pink cheek and a coral lip. Gorgeous!

Here is an image of me fashion styling. In this image I am adjusting the jacket. The jacket required a clamp in the back to keep it open in just the right way. I love this look its the beautiful Gunne Sax dress together with a tough leather jacket. Oh an I paired the look with pearls. I love the classic pearl together with a tough looking leather jacket.

Adrian has his model on set at last. Photographers approach shooting there muse in very different ways. Some work it out while shooting and some prior to shooting. I have noticed Adrian studies how his model moves and talks while she is in wardrobe and having her makeup done. So she gets on set and he know exactly how he wants her to look and move. The shoot goes off beautifully from the word go. One of the first images shot is the main image on my home page.

Answer: Yes. I’ve always worn alot of jewelry, but I never wore gold. Seven years ago, I was given a tiny pair of 24 karat antique Chinese gold studs with a diamond fleck in each of them. Pretty! Now how can you not wear that! Here I am the girl who only wears silver with a pair of beautiful gold earrings. . . The first time I wore these earrings it was to a dinner at a formal restaurant and it was the only jewelry I wore. Wearing only one accessory was hard for an accessory junkie. It was like being naked. So the earrings sat in my jewelry box unused. I put them on with all my other jewelry. I just wanted to wear it all. It’s like that red lipstick, just put it on. I started playing with gold tones in the mixing of my accessories, including vintage belt buckles, mixing gold charms into my silver charm bracelets and now gold and silver are part of my daily look. I wear a pair of large gold hoop earrings, and a mixture of silver and gold bangles and a gold framed Gucci belt buckle made from an old handbag. This is my jewelry and how I roll.
